It is a marathon to be a college student; between attending lectures, going to study groups, completing assignments and preparing for exams, it can be hard for students to find time to relax, let alone have time to work out if you are traveling from dorms to classes or balancing part-time jobs, social life and personal responsibilities.
Staying active does not have to be an exhausting task. The University of North Dakota offers a great variety of services through the Wellness Center’s online resources. They have a program filled with gradually increasing skill level home workout videos, which can perfectly cater to the busy schedules of college students. These videos can serve not only as workout guides but also a stepping stone and tools to help you create personalized routines. These videos are designed to fit into your day whether you have ten minutes between classes or need a study break.
These videos are a game changer for visual learners, providing a step-by-step demonstration, all making it easier to follow along and understand each exercise. These exercises can be done in-between cooking dinner, during short breaks, or even a great way to unwind after a long day all in the comforts of your home. These routines can be repeated until you are comfortable with them or have gone through all of them and still want to work out.
It can be a bit hard to think of a work-out routine, especially if you are new to working out. However, with the resources from the Wellness Center, you do not have to worry. Each day’s workout is broken into five weeks, with every day having a written layout of what you are doing and a video going through the workout showing you how to do the workout. All of it gives you an approach that ensures that you can follow along easily, regardless of your fitness level.
