At 12:45 a.m. Saturday morning, a UND police officer was involved in a shooting that took place in the Altru Hospital parking lot, according to a press release sent out by both the UND Police Department and Grand Forks Police Department.

The shooting took place after the University Police Department, the Grand Forks Police Department, Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol were  in the pursuit of a vehicle.

Little information has been released as the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation has taken over the case and will be in charge of providing details of the incident from here on out.
