BLOG: ‘Tis the season!

…Of Christmas parties and eating lots and studying even more that is… Why is it that cookies taste so much better in the winter?  Mmm.

I’m excited to get finals over with so that I can go home and hang out with my dog, Lilly.  And the rest of my family too, of course.  🙂

The coffee and wine bar I work at in Minnetonka was just bought out by someone, so I’m hoping I still have a job there because my plan was/is to work over break a lot to save up money for my trip to Austria this summer.

I have to say, knowing people in Germany is going to come in really handy when I get to stay overseas for an extra week or two with free lodging.  I can’t wait to work on my German, drink some delicious beer, and most of all see the works of Hundertwasser, an Austrian architect who was very in tune with the environment and designed some creative structures.

I recently learned that UND will be offering a minor in sustainability science starting next year (one year too late for me, unfortunately); however, it is very cool that the university is getting on board with that important aspect of education and living and I really hope students take advantage of it.

I’m jumping all over the place today, but it’s probably because I’m in the middle of cooking for another Christmas dinner and also studying for a German final I have tomorrow morning at 11am.  Johnny Holm is in town tonight at 9 p.m. as well, and I’m having a difficult time convincing myself that I should stay at home and study.

My cookies are about to burn, so good luck with finals everyone, don’t forget to de-stress, and also remember to recycle! 🙂  I will leave you with the words of my all-time favorite bumper sticker:

Peace, friends.
