Recently, I was shopping with my friend to help her find a dress for her 21st birthday.

Although I am 21 myself, I was a little surprised at some of the options, especially since it is December in one of the coldest cities in America.

I don’t consider myself a prude, nor do I frown upon having a good time at the bars. What I am opinionated on, however, is the way some women dress themselves when going out to these bars.

Everyone has different expectations and goals when going out on the weekends, and that’s 100% okay with me. But come on, ladies. Respect yourselves enough to cover up your butt and boobs.

I was the designated driver for some of my roommates the night of Halloween, and as many people already know, that day has become an excuse to dress in very little fabric (that is way overpriced!) and drink a lot of alcohol. I’m all for a good party, but when girls are walking around with only fishnets and undergarments on, not only are they objectifying themselves, they are disrespecting themselves and all other women.

Tight dresses and stilettos can be totally rocked if worn in a classy way. So ladies, respect yourselves, demand that respect from others, and have fun.
