School spirit is not the only thing all over campus as UND Homecoming Week 2025 nears its end this Saturday. In addition to alumni events, ribbon cuttings and football, there is also plenty to look forward to for students looking to partake in some more digestible offerings—and maybe even make some new friends.
Starting Thursday, Sept. 18, is free Homecoming Pizza in the Student Involvement Office. Starting at 11 a.m. and running as long as supplies last (which almost certainly will not be long), students will be hard-pressed to find a cheaper slice.
Later that night, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Chester Fritz Library Room 406 will be hosting the UND Interfaith Picnic Meet & Greet. Along with a free meal from local fusion restaurant Chino Latino, participants can look forward to forging friendships with students of any faith background. Students from all walks of life are welcome for a “welcoming evening of community and connection!”
Friday, Sept. 19 starts off strong with a free community breakfast hosted by the Hilyard Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at their location on the second floor of the Memorial Union. The Hilyard Center is no stranger to such events, having hosted a breakfast last month, August 29, and planning to host three more before the end of the semester—9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 17, Nov. 7, and Dec. 12.
Hockey buffs can look forward to a special Hall of Fame Fan Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Friday in the lobby of the Ralph Engelstad Arena. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and the price of admission is $15. Immediately following, at 1 p.m., the Hall of Fame Recognition Wall will be officially reopened in its new location along the arena’s “Hawkway.”
On Saturday, Sept. 20, a deluge of treats comes courtesy of the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines and the Chester Fritz Library. CNPD’ “Sweet Spot on the Parade Route” will be offering donuts from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the corner of University Avenue and Harvard Street. From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the Chester Fritz Library will be hosting a “Homecoming Coffee Hour” on the North Lawn of the building, where visitors can expect coffee and a bite of breakfast.
Before the Hawks face Valparaiso on the football field at 3 p.m., the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines are offering anybody involved with the CNPD to stop by their tailgate tent for good food and great company from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
