ARBOR LINKS North Dakota claims No. 7 spot in weekend competiton.

The UND men’s golf team was in Nebraska City, Neb., this past Monday and Tuesday for the Nebraska Arbor Links Invitational at Arbor Links Golf Course.

Sophomore Aaron Pulanco posted the lowest score Tuesday with a 79 (+7). However, his success was only a portion of UND’s overall score.

UND finished seventh with a score of 952 while Grand Canyon University took the top spot of the tournament with a total score of 895. UND had four players complete the tournament. Collin Lervick placed the highest on the team at 25th with a score of 236 (+20). Sean Halverson, Daniel Sayler and Pulanco all tied for the 31st position with scores of 232 (+26).

UND was just 12 strokes behind the University of South Dakota in the final scoring. Of the three tournaments UND has competed in this season, junior Collin Lervick has placed the highest for the Green and White in scoring for two of the three.

Lervick’s highest overall finish was fourth in the first tournament of the year at South Dakota. He also has posted the lowest round score for UND with a 69 at South Dakota. After placing 25th in the most recent tournament in Nebraska, Lervick and his teammates will have almost a full month off to relax before they finish their fall season.

Other teams participating in the tournament were Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, Western Illinois, Iowa Western Community College, South Dakota and Concordia University, St. Paul.

North Dakota will finish it’s fall portion of the season November 4-5 in Gulf Shores, Ala. for the Arkansas State Fall Beach Classic.
