A Look into Lotus Yoga

Recently, I have been actively seeking out new ways to workout, move my body, and stay warm. Lotus Yoga here in Grand Forks offers yoga classes, both in a hot studio and standard studio, that challenge individuals to channel their creative yoga abilities, while also completing a quick and efficient workout. With classes including Yoga Sculpt, Yoga Flow, Slow Flow and various others offered in and out of the hot studio, there is bound to be a class that fits your groove.

As previously mentioned, Lotus is equipped with what is called a “hot studio.” This hot studio is equipped with state-of-the-art green heating infrared technology. With temperatures in the studio usually around 100 degrees Fahrenheit, you may experience benefits such as accelerated healing, detoxification, and an overall good workout. Yoga Sculpt integrates light weight and quick paced yoga flow sequences. Yoga Sculpt is usually offered in the hot studio, making for an efficient workout that you can complete at any time it is offered.

Perhaps one of my favorite parts of Lotus Yoga is the “Student Class.” Student classes are offered usually at night or early in the morning before class. These classes always have incredibly high energy and are usually relatively full. In addition to being abundant in good energy, these classes are also offered at a discounted rate for students. This allows students to take part in the class more regularly, despite having the cost of school on their plates.

With classes offered at a variety of times throughout the week, you can find a class that works for you and your busy schedule. Classes are offered early in the morning, around 6:00 am, and as late as around 9:00 pm, and all hours in between. One of the many beauties of Lotus Yoga is their incredibly diverse variety of class times. On any given day, there are around 4 classes offered, sprinkled throughout the day. This allows for individuals to fit in a class, and also try new classes as they are periodically offered. Each class integrates traditional yoga poses, sometimes taking a flow pattern. Yoga flow is more of a fluid, energizing motion. Every movement is connected to another, creating a flow that blends a beautiful combination of meditation, breath work, and energizing patterns. My favorite class is “Hot Yoga Flow.” This is a yoga flow class in the hot studio. It functions as a great workout that leaves me feeling energized, happy, and strong. Each instructor is passionate and insightful, allowing students to learn while leaning into a creative angle of their practice.

Lotus Yoga creates a safe, creative space where students can practice yoga while having fun. I highly encourage experimenting with a yoga class through Lotus. With the Fall season, Lotus Yoga is introducing a few new yoga classes which include Prenatal Yoga, Expanding Poses, Yoga Hour and Meditate, and Mat Pilates. A new class at Lotus may provide you with exactly what you need as the semester progresses.
