BLOG: Upcoming finals
Well guys, it’s that time of year again: the countdown to finals. You can feel the tension and the stress in the air. At least I know I can.
Even though I don’t have many finals this semester, I am still stressed. I have so many things to do and so much riding on my test scores. It won’t be a surprise if I have a mini panic attack.
I’m the kind of people who puts a lot of pressure on herself. I know it isn’t healthy, but it’s who I am. I strive to do my best and feel good about myself, whether it’s working out, having a good attitude or getting good grades. When I fall short, it stresses me out. Obviously I’m human, so this happens quite a bit.
I’ve never been a very good test taker. Maybe that’s why I always get overly concerned about finals. The odds aren’t really ever in my favor; no matter how hard I study; either I make stupid mistakes or I second-guess myself. It happens all the time. I know I’m not the only one who does this. I’m sure it’s a common thing. Oh well I guess!
Even though I am anxious about the tests I have during the next few weeks, I’m trying to be positive about it all. I want the next few weeks to be happy and positive. I want to spend time with my friends before we all leave for break, and I want to do well on my finals. We only have a few weeks left here this semester, and I want to make the best of them.
It would be great if we could all do this. I think it would lighten the tension in the air and release the stress everyone has. We should take time each day to be thankful or happy about something. We should also take time to laugh. Laughing helps release stress and anxiety. I think I also read somewhere once that if you laugh before an exam, you’ll be more relaxed and prepared. Even if that’s not true, I’ll keep telling myself that. 🙂
I wish good luck to all of you on your finals. Don’t forget to have fun before the end of the semester, too!
