BLOG: Small town living
Hey y’all!
I hope you’re having a wonderful week. Actually, I hope you all survived mid terms. Awful things.
Anyways! I’m in a pretty weird mood today. Does anyone else have those days where everything just seems off and you’re basically walking around like a hot mess? Yeah, today is one of those days. Needless to say, I’m coping.
So now I’ll start talking about something interesting. This past weekend, I went with a friend back to her hometown. And this town literally has like 300 people. Very tiny, but very relaxing. I can say hands-down it was one of my favorite weekends this year. We did all sorts of wonderfully homey things.
Personally, I love just lounging around the house in leggings and a baggy sweatshirt with no makeup. So we did. Every night. We also spent a day in Bismarck, N.D. and did a whole lot of retail therapy, which resulted in plenty of cute fall/winter clothes and a sizable dent in my checking account. Oops. 🙂
In addition to these events, we also baked. Now I love baking; it’s one of the things I miss most about home and living in an actual house. With an actual kitchen. But we made cookies and some awesome fall treats. I’ll include some pictures!
I really love the small town life. My column in this issue was about that. I love the hometown feel and way of life but I also love the excitement of a city like Grand Forks. I was sad to leave after the weekend because I was having such a good time. I was also excited to return to campus though because I do love it here. 🙂
Luckily for me, I get to go home a few weeks from now. Stay tuned for a blog about my adventures in the good ‘ol Dirty ‘Bo.
