BLOG: Halloween fun underway

Hey everyone, how are things going? I realize some of you are still taking mid-terms, but for the most part I think it is safe to assume that most of them have been taken. Now its time to get the Holiday season started. With just a few days remaining before Halloween it seems as though the excitement is finally in the air.

Over the weekend, I got the Halloween fun going. I went to the pumpkin patch at Lumber Mart, here in town near Wal-Mart.

I realize it is meant for children ages seven and younger; however, I just had to relive my tradition of looking at and picking out pumpkins again.

Afterward, I went over to Wal-Mart and picked out a pumpkin. I know it is not the same as going to a pumpkin patch; however, because I do not have a car, I had to unfortunately settle for the next best thing. In addition to the pumpkin, I also bought some candy.

The only thing missing at this point is the costume. I do not know yet if I will dress up but if I do, I will likely wear a clown outfit. That has been my costume every year since seventh grade. The chance of me dressing up this year is slim though because I have night class on Halloween and will therefore be missing the trick-or-treat event at Swanson.

Either way though, Halloween will be great because it means we will soon be closing in on Thanksgiving. Like back at home, I look forward to going out and helping serve a Thanksgiving meal to the poor. Personally, I feel it is a great way to give a friend to those in need and a meal to enjoy on the holiday. It will be the same for me this year, as I too will be alone on Thanksgiving. Many of the other people in the dorms will probably be heading home for the holiday and it will give me people to talk to.

Anyway, before I get too far ahead of myself, enjoy the break and have a good week leading up to Halloween. If you need some help deciding what to do, check this fun website out.
