Grand Forks’ newest coffeehouse, Meg-A-Latte, opened its doors to the public on Monday, Mar. 31. This coffeehouse is located on 32nd Avenue near Noodles and Company. This chain of coffeehouses has been around since 2012 and was founded by Meg Wold. The very first location opened in Williston and new locations have been spreading throughout the state of North Dakota ever since. It started out as a small local gem and has expanded all throughout the state creating welcoming spaces filled with community, good coffee, delicious food, and other fun drinks.
This coffeehouse, being located in the central shopping area of Grand Forks, makes its drive through window highly appealing for shoppers to swing by and grab a drink or snack before running their errands. Since it is located off campus, it is also a great space for students who want a place away from their classrooms to go and study or meet up with friends.
They have a wide range of coffee choices, as well as a wide selection of non-coffee drinks. They have various teas including chai and matcha. Along with this, they have countless flavors of lotus and zinger drinks as well as lemonade. Aside from the drinks, they also have a wide range of food for all occasions and any time of day. Like most coffee shops, they have various pastries including bagels, donuts, muffins, banana bread, lemon loaf, and multiple kinds of scones that are made in house. Along with this, they have breakfast options, such as waffles, burritos, sandwiches, and various kinds of toast. They also have plenty of lunch items, including pretzel bites, grilled paninis, soups, and mac-n-cheese. They have a wide variety of to-go items including macaroons, cold brew coffee, lotus bombs, and bags of their own coffee beans.
The space may seem small from the outside, but the inside is actually quite spacious. It has a sort of industrial feel to it while still holding up a cozy midwestern atmosphere. There is plenty of seating to sit alone or in groups. The space is filled with cozy colors with one of the main eye-catching features being the fireplace; this will be especially appealing during the colder months here in Grand Forks.
This new coffee shop is another great business to support in Grand Forks with an inviting environment and a brand-new menu to explore. They have plenty of seasonal drinks to try out this spring and will continue to bring new ones out as their time in Grand Forks continues. The employees there are friendly and willing to help you find your new favorite menu items. So, consider stopping in to check out the space or swing through the drive through to taste something new.
