Brown leaves football team
UND senior cornerback Chris Brown has left the team, according to a Grand Forks Herald report.
The defensive back was recently demoted from his starting position in favor of true freshman Tyus Carter.
Brown struggled in the Green and White’s last game against instate rival North Dakota State. While it was not a good day overall for the UND defense, Brown consistantly missed tackles and was getting beat off the line by the Bison wide receiver.
This marks the second time this week that a UND football player has left the team.
On Monday, UND Athletics and Bubba Schweigert released a statement saying the team had released sophomore fullback Dustin Iverson.
“We were made aware today of a legal situation involving Dustin Iverson and after reviewing all available information at this time, we have made the decision to dismiss him from the football team effective immediately for actions detrimental to our program and the University,” Schweigert said in a statement.
There has been no comment on Brown’s departure.
UND will have to block out these distractions, as the team faces UC Davis this week at home at the Alerus Center.
