Men wrap up season

North Dakota men’s golf team swings at last meet for fall, places 13th.

The UND men’s golf team wrapped up its fall season at the Arkansas State University Fall Beach Classic on Tuesday, taking 13th place.

Junior Collin Lervick and senior Sean Halverson turned in rounds of 73 and 75, respectively, ending the fall season on a high note.

Out of 73 golfers participating in the ASU tournament, only six golfers shot a better score than Lervick. He opened the tournament with scores of 91 and 77.

UND had five golfers competing in the tournament. Lervick finished in a tie for 67th (241, +25), while Halverson was the most consistent among UND’s five golfers, tied for 61st with a 54-hole total of 238 (+22).

Along with Lervick and Halverson, sophomore Aaron Pulanco also shot in the 70s during his final round after opening play with a 166 total Monday. All three men improved their score during each of the tournament’s three rounds.

West Florida took first place  in a 13-team field with a three-round total of 868 (+4) after pulling away from an opening-round tie with Memphis.

UND came in at 13th for team rankings with a total of 974.

The Green and White will  start up their spring season campaign on Feb. 10 at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invite hosted by Southern Utah in St. George, Utah.
