Pride of Dakota is an organization and brand dedicated to identifying and highlighting products and companies that are made in North Dakota. Created in 1985 with only 20 “made in Dakota” companies, to now with over 500 companies, Pride of Dakota is an organization dedicated to showcasing the businesses that make North Dakota what it is today.
This past weekend, Pride of Dakota held their annual fest, where their participating businesses could present their products and services to the greater Grand Forks area. Some of the highlighted businesses presented at the event include Real Good Cookies, which is a small business that presents itself all over town.
From the Pride of Dakota website, “Members include food and beverage companies, manufacturers, publishers, artisans, gift manufacturers and service providers. Associate members, such as commodity groups, government agencies, educational institutions, and retailers, also support the program.” Pride of Dakota highlights businesses from mom-and-pop start-ups to large, well-known businesses in town. You may have purchased a product from a Pride of Dakota business without even knowing it.
