With Halloween less than two weeks away, it’s understandable to panic a little if you’re still short of a Halloween costume. Maybe you’ve been slammed with midterms and haven’t gotten to look at Party City. Maybe you have been to Party City but don’t want to spend the same amount of money you would use on a tank of gas on a Halloween costume you’ll wear once. All are understandable, and that’s why here’s a list of last-minute Halloween costumes you may already have in your closet.
For The Girls
Rapunzel from Tangled: For the blondies out there, braid your hair to the side and pair it with any pink or purple shirt or dress in your closet. Grab a frying pan from your cupboard and you’re set. Bonus points if you find flowers for your braid!
Scarecrow: This has to be the easiest one! Find a flannel from your closet and pair it with a pair of jeans or a jean skirt. It’s really that simple. Draw some patches on your face with eyeliner and braid your hair into two pigtails to finish the look.
Princess Amelia from The Princess Diaries: This one may be a bit tricky if you don’t have a tiara lying around, but doesn’t everyone? Though, the payoff is amazing if you can get your hands on one. Find any sort of blue or white dress and a pair of black sunglasses. Tie your hair up into a bun on the top of your head. Grab a pair of headphones with wires if you can still find them and your tiara and place them on top! Look up the movie poster for reference.
Rosie the Riveter: You can do it! Find any blue or denim top and tie the front into a knot and pair it with a pair of jeans or jean shorts. Grab a red headband or scarf and tie around your head with your hair in a bun. Put on some red lipstick and you’re good to go. Make sure to flex your muscles for added effect.
For The Guys
Any athlete ever: Do I even have to explain? Grab that jersey that probably needs to be washed from the back of your closet and put it on. Grab the matching equipment from the garage and you’re set. Warning: every other man within a 10-foot radius will also be doing the same so choose wisely.
Jake from State Farm: Find a small piece of paper and write “Jake” on it in block lettering. Tape it to a red shirt and pair it with some khakis and you’re set.
Ace Ventura: Gel your hair in all different directions and find a floral print button up shirt. Grab some cowboy boots, a football, and you’re good to go.
Risky Business: If you’re risky enough, grab a white button up shirt and put it on with some long white tube socks and a pair of sunglasses. That’s it…
