Senate meeting cancelled
Student Senate cancelled its Sunday meeting to accommodate five members of the executive team who were in Washington, D.C., for the American Student Government Association’s national conference, which took place this weekend.
“Since the majority of our executive team is at the ASGA conference this weekend — and with no pressing items of business, for once — Vice President Hanson and I have decided to cancel Student Senate this week,” Student Senate President Pro Tempore Alan Oberg said.
The five non-voting members of the executive committee will report on the sessions they attended at the conference at the next Senate meeting.
“The main intent of attending this conference was to expose ourselves to new ideas and best practices that will assist us in advancing a strategic plan to enhance student life,” Student Body President Nick Creamer said in a press release.
Senate will reconvene Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Union River Valley Room.
