ZZZZZZZ

I really REALLY love sleep. When I was first starting out in college, I was triple majoring. The first thing to go when I was really busy was sleep. Believe me, I am a pro at all-nighters, but I really don’t like them. I like being able to to lie back, sink into my bed, and head off to dream land.

Don’t misunderstand me, I like being awake too. I wouldn’t trade being awake for being asleep, but I always have a better day when I’m well-rested.

As someone who overanalyzes everything, dreaming especially can be nice. The benefits come one of two ways. While asleep, my mind is forced to stop analyzing. While my unconscious mind takes over, I get to take a break. It amazes me how my mind can take me all around the world in less than eight hours.

The other benefit comes once again from my subconscious. Wee, when I have a problem, I analyze it so much that I will often forget my first solution. My subconscious will often give me a reminder while sleeping. This works well because I can’t actually analyze it while dreaming. Say, while dreaming, a tiger tells me to just pay my bills. I won’t be able to analyze what the tiger just said past face value because I’ll have already moved on to why the sky is pink. Dreams, although trippy, can be quite insightful.

So, at the end of the day, I really do just enjoy going to bed on time. I recall as a child, hating naptime and bedtime, but as an adult it has become one of my favorite habits. It’s funny how life works out sometimes. But that’s all for now, I need to go take a nap!
