UND’s Graphic Identity RFP Evaluation and Recommendation Team has recommended SME Inc. to President Schafer to be selected to design the Fighting Hawks Logo, according to UND spokesman Peter Johnson.

The firm was selected Tuesday after the team heard oral presentations from the three firms competing to design the Fighting Hawks logo Tuesday morning. Like most of the team’s meetings so far, the presentations took place in executive session and were not open to the public.

The three finalists that presented at Tuesday’s meetings were Phoenix Design Works, SME Inc. and Summit Athletics Media, which are from New Jersey, New York and North Carolina respectively.

The team will present its recommendation to President Schafer,, who will make the final decision on whether or not to hire the firm to design the logo. The contract is expected to issued by February 16.
