New NDUS/UND IT hub opens on campus

At 9 a.m. last friday,   the North Dakota University System and UND celebrated the opening of the Information Technologies Building.

The building is located near the intersection of 42nd Street and University Avenue on the west side of campus.

The building was built as a collaborative effort between NDUS and UND and will serve as an IT hub for the entire NDUS system. It will be able to accommodate up to 150 employees.

“Collaboration between the North Dakota University System and its institutions is essential to our long-term success,” NDUS Interim Chancellor Larry Skogen said in a UND press release.

“This beautiful and functional new building on the UND campus, which will be the home for our comprehensive information technology, will help make that collaboration possible.”

Town Hall meeting for law school building

The UND School of Law and ICON Architectural Group will host a Town Hall meeting, Dec. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Memorial Union Lecture Bowl.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the upcoming expansions that will be made to the school in the near future.

Gorecki Alumni Center achieves highest LEED building rating

On Nov. 13, UND announced that the Gorecki Alumni Center was certified Platinum by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

LEED is a national organization that sets standards for what makes a building considered environmentally friendly.

Certification levels are silver, gold and platinum.The platinum certification is the highest rating and puts the Gorecki in the top 3 percent of certified buildings. The Gorecki Alumni Center is the only alumni center in the nation to recieve a platinum certification level.
