Hockey! Hockey! Hockey! Oy! Oy! Oy!

Howdy there, UND.

As I’m sure you’re all well aware…HOCKEY SEASON STARTS THIS WEEKEND! I apologize for the outburst, but I’m so excited. I love watching hockey and the games here are always so great. UND really does have a fantastic hockey program. I hope we can have a great season!

Watching hockey isn’t the only thing I love about the games. The atmosphere is awesome as well. Seeing everyone having school spirit and getting into the game is the best: the jeers, the cheers and everything in between. I feel lucky to be a part of UND when we can all come together and cheer on the hockey team!

Another great aspect of hockey, you may ask? The fights! That’s right, ice fights. I love it when the players go after each other. So does the rest of the crowd. It’s part of the game and there’s nothing better than a good row out on the ice.

During the harsh winters up here, there isn’t really anything to do on the weekends besides drink and party. Since I’m not a big fan of either, I enjoy hockey season that much more. Spending the day getting ready for the game and relaxing is always a treat. Sipping on coffee or tea, eating snacks and doing our hair is always fun. We can take the whole day to prepare for a hockey game. What else do the cold winters have to offer?

I went to the exhibition game on Sunday with some friends and it was a blast, definitely got me psyched for the season. The game wasn’t too intense, but it was a good taste of what the season has to offer. Other than getting beer spilled all over me by some drunk guy behind us, the night was awesome. I’m bummed that we won’t be playing the U of M for a few years, but I still think we’ll have a great season.

We open with Vermont and then play St. Cloud next weekend. Both games should be great to watch, and I honestly cannot wait.

Hockey Hockey Hockey!!

Oi Oi Oi!
