Going to the gym is something not everyone can easily get motivated to do, but the UND Wellness Center offers personal trainers who advocate a positive mindset by encouraging and promoting an individual’s fitness.

Personal trainers work create customized training programs and deliver a variety of different workouts that progress individuals towards their own personal fitness goals. They show how to execute workouts, how to use workout machines properly and how to correctly lift weights. Personal trainers provide one-on-one motivation to efficiently accomplish fitness goals.

Meeting with a personal trainer sets in motion a special and totally personalized training experience.

One of the Wellness Center’s certified personal trainers, Alisha Namanny, believes that being a personal trainer extends well beyond the fitness aspect of the job.

“I strive not to be just be a trainer — but to be a personal motivator, life coach and to also share appreciation for fitness and healthy lifestyles with people,” Namanny said.

Alisha has a degree in kinesiology and has had a passion for fitness her whole life. She is just one of the many knowledgeable and certified trainers that the Wellness Center has on staff.

“As a trainer, it is important to build a trustful and encouraging relationship with a client to help them gain their goals,” Nammany said.

The Wellness Center offers a number of different personal training packages such as the “Let’s Get Started!” pack, individual sessions and group-training packages. The “Let’s Get Started” pack includes a comprehensive fitness assessment, six personal training sessions and a Culinary Corner Cooking Class for $170. Personal trainers can be hired starting at $25 a session.

Personal Trainers can provide a fun, unique kick-start to an active and healthy lifestyle and now is the perfect time to sign up and meet with a trainer.

“Now is a great time to sign up,” Nammany said.  “The program is offering 10 percent off any personal training packages through Nov. 1-25 as an incentive for people to start working towards their fitness goals.”

To sign up for a personal trainer, go to the Wellness Center and stop by the Fitness Experience desk.
